Our focus is to help alleviate your pain, decrease your muscle tightness and tension, help you recognize what lifestyle habits have created the fascial imbalances, and equip you with the tools necessary to restore optimal strength and posture.
As we navigate in a culture and era led by technology, hyper stimulation, and convenience, we’re here to help remind you that our muscles are meant to be used despite your current circumstance. Chronic sitting and/or sedentary lifestyles causes stagnation in the body, a dysfunctional lymphatic system, posture imbalances, muscle atrophy, systemic weakness, and eventually pain.
Chronic pain management, sports performance, rehabilitation and lifestyle maintenance.
Our Mission.
We provide evidence-informed manual therapy and bodywork that honors the body’s adaptability and resilience. Our mission is to empower every person to take control of their health by offering the tools and support needed to break the cycle of dependency in traditional healthcare.
What is Body Work?
Bodywork uses therapies and techniques used in complementary and alternative medicine to manipulate the body to treat pain and dysfunction. In our practice, we may use and teach diaphragmatic breathing techniques that will synchronize with deep myofascial therapy for a neuromuscular repatterning. Different types of cupping techniques may be used if stagnation is causing the tension and pain. An herb called mugwort may be burned to create warmth indirectly on the skin. Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) may be used for chronic tension, scar tissue and support sports performance. Structural integration is a technique used for misalignment and postural imbalances and involves active participation - which includes 90% of your session. We incorporate PNF stretching if necessary, as well. If you’re suffering from sleep issues, anxiety and/or in a sympathetic (stress) state regularly, we may use auricular therapy for specific points in the ear that may promote a parasympathetic (rest) state and/or focus on breathing techniques to help regulate the nervous system. If you’re a runner, we may use KT tape for support, stabilization and enhancing proprioception. We may recommend the use of our infrared sauna and cold plunge for hot/cold contrast therapy, autoimmune dysfunctions, and sports performance. Corrective exercises and/or stretches, along with self-myofascial release techniques are given to you as “Homework” after your first session so you have the tools needed
